Irregular Programming presents
DEALING WITH CLAIR
Written by Martin Crimp
Directed by Harry Reid
It’s a hateful business, selling houses.
The property market is booming. Young real estate agent Clair is helping Mike and Liz sell their London home. In an industry full of shady tactics and empty promises, the couple want to behave honourably.
However, when a mysterious buyer appears, eager to settle and willing to pay cash, the price is right. But at what cost?
From the team that brought you Fewer Emergencies (Sydney Theatre Award nominee for Best Independent Production), Irregular Programming brings Martin Crimp back to the Old Fitz in 2026 with this psychological and satirical thriller that investigates the dark side of the property ladder.
“An eerie topicality, yet its ingenious study of moneyed hypocrisy makes it truly timeless... a fiendishly clever play.” - The Guardian | “Martin Crimp’s play dares to explore an ordeal worse than divorce and more devastating than mortal illness: moving house.” - Thomas Hodgkinson

Note: ticketing for Mainstage productions at the Old Fitz Theatre operate on a Dynamic Pricing model. This system means prices increase in line with audience demand (determined by capacity targets), and ensures we are able to provide cheaper tickets for a period whilst also making sure artists - who are often contracted on a profit share basis - get paid. In the interest of full transparency, the structure of the model can be viewed in full on our Welcome page. Concession tickets will never exceed $60.50, and previews and Cheap Tuesday’s will be capped at $38.50 and will not scale.
