WHAT OF IT

Written by Bec Sgouros

Directed by Mehhma Malhi

Girls will be girls, ay bruv.

It’s three days ‘til the end of the world. And there’s only one thing for certain…We won’t be dying as no fuckn’ virgin.

WHAT OF IT is a gender-flip, chav-filled, explosive, and energetic comedy drama that follows the lives of three females as they venture out to make sure that none of them die without first getting another shag. Because what’s more important than dick, am I right bruv?

Filled with energetic pussy-popping dances, wash-your-mouth-out-with-soap trash-talking and just general big clit energy, this poetical theatre piece is sure to have you saying ‘mans not hot’.

It’s toxic femininity at it’s finest, innit.

Rebecca Fingher reveals the psychology of these three with masterful clarity and she does it with relentlessly fast, slangy, filthy overlapping dialogue… What of It? is great theatre. You can’t look away.” – Stage Whispers.

Adidas-clad, foul-mouthed and working class, Dax, Luck, and Cory brawl, shag and never cry… They’re also women, and the performance centres on this delicious subversion of gender stereotypes… Fingher’s writing is evocative, clever and unpredictable, lending itself to dialogue that collides and ricochets among the characters, slipping fluidly between caustic, rapid-fire interchanges, lyric narration and rap.” – SeeSaw Magazine
